Strong. Powerful. Built to last.
The next-generation SK550DLC-11 delivers increased engine performance, enhanced durability and improved operator comfort compared with the previous model.
The next-generation SK550DLC-11 delivers increased engine performance, enhanced durability and improved operator comfort compared with the previous model.
The new Kobelco SK550DLC-11 replaces the SK550DLC-10, which first launched in 2018. Like its predecessor, and the smaller capacity SK350DLC and SK400DLC demolition models, the versatile SK550DLC-11 features Kobelco’s proven NEXT system for both high elevation and foundation demolition work and enable easy transportation between projects.
While the Kobelco SK550DLC-11 is a common base machine, the Kobelco-developed NEXT system attachments means that the machine can be adapted for multiple applications on the jobsite, including high elevation demolition projects as well as breaking up building foundations. The machine has four ultra-long attachment configurations and can work to a maximum height of 27.5m. The separate boom configuration is ideal for tackling lower floors of tall buildings and has a maximum working depth of 6.2m. The reinforced attachments can be easily changed on site.
An important benefit of the NEXT system is the low storage height of the ultra-high attachment when collapsed. The height of the attachment in its stored position is approximately 2m, which means that it can be transported between projects on a standard trailer, saving significant logistical costs. Other factors contributing to easy transportation include a hydraulic extension/retraction mechanism, which can reduce the width of the crawlers to 2.98m in compliance with some strict European transport regulations, and the two-part counterweight, which can be separated more easily than an integrated counterweight.
The all-new SK550DLC-11 also benefits from the use of an electronically controlled environmental engine. Engine output is 10% or more higher than the previous model, and performance excels in all aspects of work. The AIS (Auto Idle Stop) function also enhances efficiency by avoiding unnecessary fuel consumption while the machine is idling.
Like Kobelco’s conventional Generation 11 excavators, the SK550DLC-11 follows Kobelco’s stunning Performance X Design concept for excellent operator-based operability and wellbeing. The Kobelco-branded Grammer air suspended seat offers excellent shock absorption to prevent fatigue even when sitting for a long time. It also includes a wide four-inch arm rest that allows the operator to take a comfortable position, and a seat heater for comfortable operation during the winter months.
The cabin’s large 10-inch colour monitor offers an easy-to-operate menu screen, which facilitates reading of important information, including work mode, maintenance intervals and fuel consumption. The screen also provides birds-eye and eagle-eye views from the machine’s cameras (installed at the right and rear of the machine).
The demolition-specification cabin is fitted with high strength security glass and radial grid guards across the front and top windows and can tilt up to 30-degrees so that the operator can maintain a comfortable posture during high elevation demolition work. If the attachment comes within a certain distance of the cab, an alarm and warning on the screen alert the operator, and the attachment stops softly and automatically. Since there is no worry of contact, the operator can confidently perform lever operation even close to the cab. In addition, the working radius and stability of the machine are calculated from the position of the attachment, and the operator is warned with an alarm when stability is compromised via the stability warning system.
The SK550DLC-11’s reversible cooling fan helps to keep the machine’s cooling system clean by blowing out dust automatically, reducing maintenance and maximising up-time. The urea lines, which are electrically heated, help to avoid issues at low ambient temperatures for improved reliability.
